Meet Recap

LOGAN: All of the Bonneville Cross Country teams raced Friday at the USU Aggie Invite Sept. 1, 2017.

The Bonneville varsity boys came back strong with their second win of the season following their victory at Park City on August 23. “Although they knew they would be near the top of this 23 school competition they surprised themselves with a 1st on their finishing cards,” said Coach Garner. “They were very excited for their first team win at an invite.”

“With their fitness continuing to get better and their desire to move forward as a team they are ready to move to the next level.” said Coach Garner

Junior Jorge Vasquez was the first team finisher (placing sixth overall) with seniors Brandon Barclay (ninth place) and Joe Gonzalez (10th place) close behind. Ayden Womack (20th place) and Jared Waymont (27th place) sealing the 1st place win. Tyler Woods (49th place) and Nathan Williams (69th place) solidified the winning team.

The varsity boys won both the overall Varsity boys team title and the 3A-4A school team title.

Bonneville’s girl’s varsity Cross Country team placed seventh out of 21 schools from four different states.

“It was a great start for the girls who have been overcoming several injuries over the first few weeks of the season,” said head coach Karen Garner.

Seniors Jessica Peterson (eighth place) and Sydney Garner (34th place) led the Laker pack with teammates Hope Preston (57th place), Chasity Munoz (60th place) and Katie Peterson (61st place) finishing close together. Joanna Figueroa wrapping it up for Bonneville in 91st place.

In the boys JV race Alexander Gonzales had a strong second place finish with Targee Tomisin (26th place), Tyler Barclay (78th place), Tyson Slater (99th place) and Jarom Strate (110th place) to help bring home a 9th place for Bonneville.
